Sidekicks works hard to serve the needs of our students and their families.  Here’s what some of them have to say about our awesome and dynamic martial arts program.

Many years ago I started a kick boxing class and lost 100 lbs and was in the best shape of my life. I moved to Florida and did not find another class that even compared to what I was doing there until I found Sidekciks Family Martial Arts Center and starting taking their kick boxing class. So far dropped 15 lbs and getting back to my fighting weight. THANKS Sidekicks!! Everyone should check it out.

I have gone to several gyms over the years and can never seem to stay motivated to go and end up canceling my membership. But I signed my son up for karate and as I was at his class I watched the kickboxing class and decided to try it out. It is the best class I have ever been to. I am so motivated to go I get upset if I miss a class, everyone at the gym is super friendly and nice even though I am a very shy person and tend to be quite, Mr. Cabrera is an awesome instructor and gives everyone in the class encouragement and instruction to make your workout the best that it can be. It is a great workout and you leave feeling you have accomplished something. I Love the class and am so glad I chose Sidekicks for my son and gained the kickboxing class for myself.

My daughter began the program in 2008. Like any new experience for a child, it was exciting for Devyn, and she could not wait to attend each day. It began as a means for my daughter to learn a new skill; however, we never imagined gaining as much as we have from the program. Three years later, my daughter has achieved her First Degree Black Belt, and our family has achieved a connection with a magnificent organization we now call our "extended family." The Cabrera's "believe" in every child that walks through their doors. Moreover, the Cabrera's take the time to get to know every child's weaknesses and strengths, and empower each to accomplish their goals leading to mastery. As adults, we strive to obtain the same. The Cabrera's see the personal best in each child AND adult. Sidekick's is not just a business to the Cabrera's; it is a means to share their knowledge, skills, and passion for the arts with others, through their unconditional positive regard toward others.

Jennifer started TKD at age 5 as a little draggon and is now a 1st degree black belt. She has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Sidekicks TKD and has been attending for 10 years! Sidekicks runs a first class program.

Joining SideKicks 2yrs ago & making it part of our daily lives has made the most wonderful impact on our lives. Our 6yr old son Sevy absolutly loves it there and has become a better person because of their influence. Most recent example... we have struggled with him learning to ride a bike. Yesterday he informs us that Mr. Cabrera taught him about the powerful word PERSEVERANCE! He explained "mommy that means never giving up, so I've pictured myself riding my bike w/out training wheels and am ready to do it!" We practiced yesterday... and today he is able to ride his bike all by himself!!! Thank you for helping make my son confident in himself!!!

Patrick really tries to stay focused and I have noticed some improvement in his everyday behavior since starting Taekwon-Do It is small steps but he is beginning to become much more positive about himself and is showing much more respect for others. I am confident that he will continue to improve with the support and dedication of yourself and your wonderful Instructors.

Maureen Wiginton, grandmother of Patrick and Claire, mother of Henry

I grew up taking martial arts, I must say that [SIDEKICKS] offers one of the finest after school programs that I have seen! His programs will keep your children's mind occupied with discipline, self control, self defense, and exercise. I highly recommend you to take a tour of his facilities and the core fundamentals that he teaches.

Chris Caito

If your looking for a place to have your children learn respect, discipline and good life habits I recommend Sidekicks Martial Arts. Manny [Cabrera] has a wonderful way of being with the kids.....teaching and supporting them.

He's [Morgan] been interested in Martial Arts since watching Ninja Turtles at age 1 ½ and is now doing it seriously instead of pretending… Is interested in something other than T.V.

Barbara Sue is caring more about her body-is loosing weight and has a good attitude about school and making good grades.

Donna B., mother of Barbara

[Taekwon-Do has been] a support to the discipline he receives at home. And the assistance to add focus to the things that he attemps. A reinforcement of manners regarding yes sir and no sir and yes ma'am and no ma'am.

Amy has benefited from Taekwon-Do in the following ways-greater self-confidence, ability to stick with a project, greater focus on tasks, and regular exercise.

Beckey H., mother of Amy

Brian has always been a confident self-assured child; however, I believe Taekwon-Do has helped his attitude most. When he started he was feeling bad because he was unable to participate in football. But since he's been coming here, all of that has changed for the better.

Sue C., mother of Brian

Taekwon-Do helps both Shawn and Dane with their self-confidence in handling confrontations in and out of school. It helps develop their coordination, and build their self-esteem.

Marci B., parent

Todd has more self-confidence, he doesn't question his own abilities as much. Daniel has more self-control. He thinks before he acts and questions his actions.

Kari G, parent

Learning and understanding the five tenets of Taekwon-Do (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit), these are the same ideas and character we want Sarah to develop.

Susan C. mother of Sarah

Carson has set a long-range goal, getting his black belt, and has been able to understand that short term succeses like moving through the belt ranks will lead to his long term goal. I think this is a great lesson for life and one that helps an individual to be successful.

Deborah L. mother of Carson

Donald’s leadership qualities have improved and he has matured a greatdeal since being in Taekwon-Do. I am grateful to the entire SIDEKICKS team for the positive changes I have seen in Donald. God Bless you for your dedication to children and families.
