March 29 – April 3: Stripe Evaluation & Pre-Tests, All Paperwork and Fees for Testing are Due (FishHawk Campus)

In order to be eligible for their next belt exam, students must earn a series of 4 Motivational stripes on their belts.  These are earned after completing and demonstrating proficiency on a number of benchmarks needed to proceed to the next level.  Students test for their stripes during class.  For more information on what benchmarks are needed to complete each stripe, visit http://sidekicks-online.com/?page_id=566

This is the final stripe evaluation before testing.  All pertinent paperwork is due at this time.  These forms include the Testing Application, Parent Evaluation, Teacher Evaluation, and the Test Fee.

April 5 – 8: General Rank Examination Week (FishHawk Campus)

·         April 5 @ 6PM – Jr. Phase 1

·         April 6 @ 6 PM – Jr. Phase 2 & 3

·         April 7 @ 5:30 PM – Little Dragons / 6:30 PM – Teen/Adult Color Belts

·         April 8 @ 6 PM – Black Belts

This is the general testing for all students eligible to test for their next belt rank.  Students should become eligible by earning a series of four motivational stripes on their belts for meeting each of the outlined benchmarks for their particular level.  Belt Rank Specific curriculum booklets can be found at:  Curriculum/Journal Pages

All Regularly scheduled classes are cancelled for this week.  Instead, so that all students can get their training in, the FishHawk Campus will be holding a daily all ranks combined class at 5:00 PM.  This class is available for Little Dragons, Juniors, Teens, and Adults.

April 9: Sidekicks (FishHawk Campus) Promotion Ceremony at 6:30 PM.

Join us at the FishHawk campus to celebrate the promotion of all the students that took the belt exam April 5 – 8.  The last few months have been building up to the exam and now it’s time to celebrate their accomplishments and set our goals towards the next intermediate goal on the road to black belt and beyond.

April 12: New Class Schedule Begins

April 12 – 16: Spring Break Belt Advancement Camp

Sidekicks will be holding its 2010 Spring Break Belt Advancement Camp Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 16, 2010.  Students will participate in the full SIDEKICKS curriculum in the 30 hour camp and test at the end of the week for new belts.  This is perfect for students that participated in the general belt exam the week before because in a two week period they can advance two belts and by the second week of the new testing cycle be working on even more advanced material.  We used to hold belt camps in years past and decided to bring them back because they’re so exciting!

April 21 (Wednesday): Early Release (Hillsborough County)

Elementary schools in Hillsborough county are released at an earlier time today (12:15 PM).  Students enrolled in our Transported After-School Program will be picked up at this time for an extended after-school activity day.

April 24 (Saturday): Spring Cook Out at Alderman’s Ford Park from Noon till 3 PM.

It’s time for our Annual Cookout at Alderman Ford Park on SR 39.  Bring a side dish and lawn chairs and your favorite outdoor activity and join us for burgers and hotdogs, fun and friendship.

April 24 (Saturday): Testing (New Tampa Campus)

April 30 (Friday): Promotion Ceremony (New Tampa Campus)

Come join us at the New Tampa Campus as we promote students that took their belt exam the previous week to their new belts.  This is a wonderful time to connect with other Sidekicks families, as well as celebrate the reason we’re all training – to achieve black belt excellence.
